We already have a Garmin Zumo which we're happy with. It's primary use
is on the bike but we use it in the cars for long trips.

I'd like to put a basic GPS unit (i.e. much cheaper than the Zumo) with
GB mapping only in each of the two cars for use when we're looking for
somewhere and don't have the Zumo with us.

I was Googling for pricing on the TomTom One XL (the screen is a bit
small on the non-XL version) with a view to ordering two as I thought
it looked a reasonable unit but came across a review that wasn't very
complimentary including problems with the weight of the device vs. its
cradle. The last thing I want is hassle like that so are you able to
help me with a recommendation for a basic standalone GPS device for the
UK please?

Thanks.

Kevin

I have used a TomTom One since they were first released and had no
problems at all.

TomTom after sales does leave a lot to be desired though.

If you've had no problems at all, why did you need to use after-sales? In
what way did they disappoint?
