Today POI66 was extended with a Twitter data exchange. If you have an
account on www.POI66.com for free personal tracking using GPS2SMS (free
tracking of your trip on a Google Map on your website), then you now also
have a free of charge Geocoded link to Twitter (tha means: city and country
info).

What does this mean? If you text (SMS) your position to POIss as follows:

GP 52.34343 4.85654 I arrived at the campsite"

or you press your GPS2SMS device's report button, then POI66 will add your
position to your map, and adds a location message to Twitter automatically.
This message contains a link to your POI66 album and the city and coutry
where you're in:

Update http//mytrip2009.poi66.com: Amsterdam, (NL): I arrived at the
campsite

It's not ever been this easy to pass your position to a map, and to Twitter.
Especially when you have a BlackBerry and you just click the Report Position
button. For Windows Mobile there are some free applications already to do
the same, sometimes even cheaper by using GPRS instead of SMS, it's about 1
EUR ct per location.

POI66 is a free of charge project and does not send paid text messages,
there's no spamming and personal data is not passed to 3rd parties.
