Hi all
Does anybody have any insight whether Garmin will be making
the pukka OS Landranger 1:50,000 maps available on the
Nuvi series any time soon? As y'all know, the GB Topo map
currently available from Garmin is a waste of money.
Now that my latest car has sat-nav installed as standard (albeit
a crap Navteq unit), I'm getting tempted to swap out my Nuvi 350
for one of the new "Active 10" units....
http://www.active10.co.uk/
...although it looks like 500 quid to get the GPS unit plus maps
for the whole of GB on OS Landranger.
But I'll keep the Nuvi if I can get proper OS maps for it instead...
Any thoughts?

Can you get Fugawi to download to it?
I paid about 150 quid about 4 years ago for the whole of the OS 1:50,000
set on Fugawi

Maps, no.
It's yet another bespoke device with it's own licensed version of the OS maps.
Even if you've got Memory Map, Fugawi, Tracklogs or whatever, you'll have to buy
the mapping all over again.
I'm a Memory Map devotee so anything that does't run Pocket Navigator is a
non-starter.

Highly unlikely.

Navyeq is the map data provider, not the device manufacturer. I
reviewed the Active 10 and it's an excellent unit, some bugs but
getting better all the time.
