Wotcher all, anyone got any news on when tomtom will work with the
N95's internal GPS? It'd be very useful for it to work with that and
I'd happily upgrade to v7 to get it.
Note that the internal GPS on the N95 8GB isn't too bad, before anyone
moans about it, and having it built in is extremely convenient, hence
me wanting it. I might see if I can try out Route66 to compare it
against tomtom.

So would I. I asked TomTom a few weeks ago and got the usual "we don't
test or support it on every phone" sort of response.

I've used loads of GPS receivers over the years and the one on my N95
8GB is by far the most reliable at obtaining and keeping a lock indoors.
Cheers,
Mark.

You've either a *very* large house or you get lost easily if you need SatNav
to get around it.....

Interestingly enough I've managed to get it to lock on without GPS on
a few occasions, apparently using triangulation of mobile phone
signals. It's not particularly accurate or reliable but it does work
inside buildings, even at the bottom of large skyscrapers. I didn't
think it was supposed to be able to do that in the UK.

Yup, my BlackBerry has the same feature, if GPS is not available or
signal is poor it reverts to Cell Network Triangulation. Google Maps
even gives you an approximate location with a circle of accuracy when
operating in the absence of GPS data.
