Hi,
I've just bought a 730t and remember from somewhere that Darren had
mentioned he was testing a new bean bag mount for Tomtom.
Anyone know if it's available yet and if it is a good buy?
Thanks
Ronnie

That's the ARKON Friction base, I'm currently compiling the review but
understand that stock is now shipping to ARKON retailers.
You can see the as yet unfinished review here:

Thanks Darren.
None of the Arkon retailers have it on their websites yet. I'll try to
be patient :-)

Interesting. The TTGO115 picture looks like a nightmare to me. I mount
my 920T on a Garmin friction mount using a home-made adapter[1]. The
arrangement has a much smaller "overhang" than that shown in the
picture, but it's still very unbalanced and it isn't at all happy around
speed bumps - it shuffles slightly downhill on the dashboard, and after
a dozen or so bumps it's on its way to landing in my lap[2] if I'm not
careful. That TTGO115 setup must be even worse than mine in that regard,
I'd have thought.
The TTGO136 mount looks much better balanced on the beanbag to me. I
guess it would even be possible to bend the steel strip the other way so
that it the TT is behind the screw rather than in front, giving even
better balance, and perhaps a better operating position.
I hope your full review will include a "challenging" road test. Thanks
for all the good work!
[1] The only reason I need to make an adapter is the annoying ever-so-
slight difference in the size of the ball mount between Garmin and
TomTom.
[2] But a Garmin Nuvi 350, which is much lighter than a TT920, on the
same mount, doesn't suffer from this problem at all.
