Hello,
I've just bought a TomTom Navigator 5 package for my Palm. I have
successfully transferred the contents of the SD card to my 'main' SD
card with all my other stuff on it.
I use this card for lots of other things, so would like to keep the file
structure nice and tidy, but the TomTom card has loads of files and
folders all over it. Which of these can I safely delete and/or move
without stopping the TomTom functioning? Is it possible to put all the
data into one folder (say "navigator") and point the Tomtom application
at it?
These are the assumptions that I have made about the files on the card.
Are they correct? I've already googled but can't find anything about
this.
2577:
Can delete; some Windows application or something? (I don't use Windows)
DCIM:
For photos - what's this doing on a TomTom?
Great_Britain-Map:
Required
itn:
Contains "temporary.iti". Itinery files?
Licences:
Safe to delete
palm:
Contains application files. Keep.
raster:
Empty. What is this?
schemes:
Empty. What is this?
start.exe
Some Windows app, don't need it.
tomtom:
Required; Tomtom data files.
voices:
Self explanatory; required for voice files?
zip:
No idea what this is. It's not a zip file. Hold on, is it "zip codes",
ie post codes? Take it this is required as well?
Which of those can I delete or move?

Bearing in mind that full post code search requires an empty folder, who
knows what other 'features' are dependent on precise placement? Probably not
tomtom thats for sure. Why not put other apps in their own folders and leave
the TT stuff as is.

You cannot relocate any of the folders without breaking TomTom. You can
delete 2577 if you wish, all the rest are required.

Thankyou. A shame, but thanks anyway.
I guess I can live with a messy root directory :)
