Just connected my TT to PC for first time this year and got a request to
upgrade TT Home to version 2. Done this got it working after a struggle,
and then it asked me to upgrade application and post codes did that.
Then I noticed Map share, got that going and updated.
Now the big disapiontment, I can't see a list of my backups any more, I want
to see the list, I could with orginal programme. I would have seen the 2 I
just done and the previous ones, is this feature lost?
It looks as if when you restore you just go back one as list is not showing,
if there no choice?

Yes the Tomtom home version 2 only stores 1 back-up, which appears to be
an incremental back-up, ie the first time it does everything, and
subsequently only the changes. However you can specify where the back-up
is to be stored, and can either move a particular back-up file to a new
location manually, or have multiple locations. Otherwise you can of
course do it with Windows explorer by copying the whole Tt system to a
location of your choice

I wonder how long before TomTom Home supports Linux. After all, it seems
to be written on top of Mozilla XUL which is cross-platform. It just has
some troublesome native Windows bits.

I'd advise not to rely on Home for your backup strategy. Just use
Explorer and take your own backup.

Unison I find pretty good, the caveat being that it's two-way, which I
like, so you can modify POI on the desktop and mirror the files
across, however if you accidentally delete the backup then foolishly
do a sync, it'll delete everything from the tomtom ;-)

You do get presented with a list of changes and would have to approve
them and hit OK though..

There's a version that runs on Windows too.
