Hi

I bought a 2GB SD card for the OneXL and put it in, when I start the
TomTom it says there are no maps, so I assume it is trying to search the
SD card for maps.

I have tried to find info on how to use the SD card, but can't see
anything relevant. Do I need to copy everything from the Internal memory
to the card or does anyone know of a link to the info I need?

Thanks
Peter

is this a blank memory card or a card with map data?

It is a blank card, as a followup I put the card in yesterday and
started the XL it said there was no maps and I took the card out, the XL
wouldn't work and I couldn't restore as it said I didn't have the card
in, although I have never backed up with the card in. I had to copy all
the data across to the XL for it to work again.

I assume you have tomtom HOME installed on your computer. You should
have as it allows you download updates etc. Have you tried backing up
the device then changing the card then restoring the device?

Yes that's what I tried yesterday.

Am I supposed to put the card in the slot when the XL is switched off
and then switch it on?
