A couple of questions please:-
1. Is it possible to "export" favourites from my TTG 300 in a similar way
to POIs so that I can share Favourites with colleagues who may have to go to
the same destinations in the future? What file are they held in my TomTom?
2. How can I make my POI .OV and .BMP files into .CAB and .TOC files to
put into
TomTom Home?
Thanks!

Yes and no! All the favourites are held in a .cfg file in your map folder
(directory). Up to version 5, the file had the same name as the map folder -
e.g. Great-Britain-Map.cfg In version 6, it's just called
MapSettings.cfg
If you copy this file from one TT to another, the second one inherits all
the Favourites and Home location. But I don't know of any way of merging
these files or of extracting individual locations (other than selecting each
one in turn and creating a POI at the same location). So it's not so much as
case of sharing, as with *replacing* one lot of favourites with another -
which may not be what you want to do.
For this very reason, I don't use favourites any more - but have created a
file containing my personal POIs instead.

Dunno - but why do you want to do it anyway? You can copy files perfectly
easily between your computer and your TT device without needing to use Home.

Wanted to send someone some POIs that I had made up for him. I know he can
handle extracting files from an email following a script I sent him with
TomTom HOME but not sure about using Windows Explorer etc.

It's pretty easy to copy Favourite locations to POIs. Just make up a new
category (Fred's POIs) copy the Favourites to the POI category (i.e. find
each favourite and immediately save it as POI) and then email him the .ov2
and .bmp of the category as attachments.
