My TT 910 is a brilliant machine BUT, if I don't use it for a few weeks it
takes forever to lock on to a Sat, today it took 35 minutes, is this a
common problem.
I suppose the answer could be to switch it on an hour before I need it. Any
thoughts.

Yes I have tried it outside the car, however the 910 works with the Athermic

My 910 takes 5-10 mins at most to lock on after a few weeks.

Maybe where you switch it on is not a good reception area, if
it's the same place each time.

That's a thought Mike thank you. When it wouldn't fire up this morning I put

on the window sill in my office and it fired up in about 10 minutes, but
even when I start driving it takes forever in the car even with the external
antenna plugged in. Having said that, it only seems to happen when it hasn't
been used for a while.
