My son has a Tom tom 1. with uk maps. He has persuaded me to invest in a gps
as I shall shortly be travelling in Europe (France, Switzerland, Austria)
and although I have always used OS maps for the UK I can see his point.
Any advice on the best, simplest and not too many gadgets on it which are
unlikely to be used.
Regards
Robert

Tomtom ONE V3. £89.99 from Ebuyer with UK and Western Europe maps. As
you've seen from your son's, you tap the screen, enter the address and
you're on your way.

I have a TT one XL Europe, take it to France and use it in hire cars.
Last year we flew into Nice, plugged the TT into the hire car and it
directed us straight out onto the A8. When we arrived my Brother in
law said he didn't expect us for another hour, he said EVERYONE gets
lost leaving Nice airport. The only problem I found on country roads
was that the map wasn't perfect, it very often showed us a 100 meters
or so off the road, a bit off putting when you are on the side of a
mountain, rocks on one side and nothing on the other.

Thanks for all the replies.
What is the difference between TT1 v3 Europe and TT1 v4 XL europe other than
the wider screen

It costs more :-)

I haven't really looked at the TT1 so I couldn't tell you.
