Hi,

Asked this a month or so ago, but got no replies. Thought I'd ask one more
time:
Anyone got any first hand experience of the above device? I'm struggling to
find much useful info on the Web...

I'm especially interested in the accuracy/reliability/sensitivity of the
actual GPS receiver, and also what software comes bundled, ie what can I use
without shelling out more money, and what's available if I DO want to spend
more on it.

I cannot find what GPS chipset this device uses, even Sony's own pages
make no mention of it. It is apparently intended for use with a
personal fitness package although this appears to be an addittional
item and not supplied with the device.

As supplied it will offer you very little unless you purchase
additional software. I'm not personally familiar with what GPS enabled
software is available for Sony handsets?

I have got various information on this device. It seems to come with some
navigation software, but (I think) only a limited trial version. I believe
it also has some very limited 'tracking' software that will record
distances, speeds and tracks which is intended for joggers (or I suppose
hikers). It's extremely difficult though to get any clear information (even,
as you seem to have found out) on SE's own website...
