Anyone have any experience of one of these? How well does the screen perform
in sunlight when walking? Can i get one cheaper than £250 (lowest price i
found on the internet).

Thanks

I've got one, use it for cycling. Like it, does the job.

If you've already got Memory Map v5 get the Road Angel Navigator instead (about
£190) and download the Memory Map Client for free from Road Angel.

The screen in bright direct sunlight is rubbish, unreadable, even with backlight
turned full up, you'll need to shade it with your hand. This of course doesn't
bode well for battery life, I get about 4 hours with judicious use of the screen
saver. You can of course get an external USB battery pack.

Trouble is if you want a waterproof, rugged unit with same mapping software on
your PC there really isn't a viable alternative.

Cheers

Neil

Excellent unit but I don't see a companion PC application that uses the same
mapping.
