Cracked mine - not happy.

Managed to order a new one but it wasnt that cheap (=A325). Cheaper than
sending it back to Navman though.

Just wondered - how easy (or hard) is it going to be to fit?

I think I've bought a complete screen (LCD and touch sensitive top
screen). Can I just change the LCD bit (top screen is OK but LCD is
'inking')?

If so, maybe I could sell the spare touch sensitive screen on ebay to
someone who just needs this bit ?

You should NOT separate the touch sensitive layer from the LCD. How
difficult it will be to replace depends on how Navman have designed the
unit. How does the LCD/Touch Screen assembly connect to the main board?

Darren,

OK. I'll bear that in mind.

No idea how the LCD connects to the main board - I havent taken it
apart yet !!!! It was advertised as 'plug in and play' so hopefully
it'll be straighforward...

Be sure to take some tear down and re-assembly pictures :) Could be
useful for others?

Why not?

I have replaced screens on two Palm devices, a Palm IIIxe, and
a Palm T|X. Admittedly they are not Navman GPS units but they
both have LCD screens with touch screen digitizers on top. On
the Palm devices, the digitizer (touch screen) is assembled to
the LCD screen with double-sided sticky tape and the two units
connect to the main PCB with separate flex circuits. I would
expect the Navman GPS uses a similar scheme. It was not
difficult to separate and join the two panels. Cleanliness is
obviously a good thing, a lint-free microfiber cleaning cloth
and a static-free environment (an ion generator is a plus) is
worth striving for.
