Problems With Running Memory-Map on XDA Mini-S

I am running Memory-Map OS Edition Version 5 Version 5.0.0 Build 608
Copyright 2005 with all 12 regions on my laptop and had Pocket
Navigator running on my Orange SPV C500 just using my local Region 4
map.

I have just upgraded to a new PDA being an O2 XDA mini S. I have
installed Pocket Navigator but when I try to run the region 4 map, it
says; "Ordinance Survey licence restrictions prohibit the map file
with this version of the software." When I try running any of the
other maps they run okay??!!

I have tried deleting everything and reinstalling because I used to
run; Memory-Map OS Edition 2004 Version 4.4.3 Build 565 Copyright 2004
- Including Region 4 only. Thinking the maps may have got confused on
my hard drive.
Can anyone suggest what is happening please?

Maps for version 4 won't run on version 5, so either you've got
version 4 maps on the XDA and have installed version 5 of the software
on it, or vice versa.

It's a real incentive not to upgrade, or indeed buy, memory map or
similarly priced software, spending a mint on maps that will only run
on one version of the software. Great as long as the old version
continues to run but if I'd paid their prices I'd expect digital maps
for a long time. I know it's the OS that's doing it.

Yes, I do appreciate that but why would it be that all but Region 4
will run on the PDA? And that is region 4 from the V5 disc!

They all come from the same V5 disc. That is the Region 4, that does
not run, and all the rest, that do run. It is a bootleg edition but
that would not explain why one does not and the rest do.
