Has anyone managed to install the new UK map to a Tom-tom? I downloaded it
OK, but when I attempt to install it through Tom-tom Home on to my 300, it
goes as far as 49% and blows out with "An error occurred while writing to
g\uk and ie plus major roads of we\cline.dat".
I have reported this to Tom-tom and await a reply. Am I alone, or has
anyone else had this problem or installed without trouble?

How do we tell how much space on our SD cards?

I've got an SD with the present V6.52 and old maps on of 512MB.
Surely TT should tell us if if we need larger cards before we pay and
download.
In fact I would expect them to write into there programme for it to check
capacity before thier programme starts downloading.

Tom Tom Home does check, although it's figures are a bit wacky for how

much free space it needs to install. Like when I totally emptied my
card, it still said it needed the same amount of free space
Anyway, according to their website, my maps are "one of the most up to
date versions". That was funny, because when I was on the new M62 -
A1(M) link road a couple of weeks ago, Tom Tom thought I was in a field.
And a new bypass. close to home, which has been there for over a year
isn't on my maps either
Talking of SD cards - do Ultra II cards make a significant difference
over ordinary SD cards? Website says get the fastest you can, but it
didn't make a noticeable difference when I bought a replacement (larger)
SD card than the one provided

Stayed up late and managed to complete the download in an hour, the
programme then continued and installed the map update onto my SD card.
Success on the 4th or was it 5th attempt.
