Having recently purchased a Navigo SY885 satnav, I would like to know
if it is possible to run it on TomTom software. It currently runs from
TurboDog software with TeleAtlas maps. If it helps, all the navigation
software in this unit is run from the 1 GB SD card and only the
operating system: Win CE NET 4.2 is in the internal memory.

Thanks
KC

Thanks Fred, but I've already been there. as I want to prove it for
myself before spending any money, I have downloaded a few instances of
the version he suggested, ( 6.010 ), but none of them have the
required folders or files to rename.

My unit is due to be delivered in a couple of days so I will post again once
I have tried it myself.

The Navigo SY885 turns out to be a very "unlockable" unit. Start reading at:

<http://www.navsoon.org/viewtopic.php?t=289&sid=7af2f7864ab0770d81e886a86d9d050b>

The forum has loads of info and links to other knowledgeable forums.

In summary, TT v 6.201 runs straight out of the box - no messing trying to
get files and folders (e.g. TT v 5 and TT v 6.010) off of another PDA and
then trying to put them where Navigo can use them.

Starting with a blank SD card:

In the SD card root directory make folder 'Mobilenavigator'.

Copy all of the TT files EXCEPT the maps into the 'Mobilenavigator' folder
and rename

'TomTom Navigator.exe' as 'Mobilenavigator.exe'.

In the SD card root directory make folders ' /My Documents/Great Britain'.

Copy the map files into the 'Great Britain' folder.

Test the Sd card in Navigo - TT starts but cannot find the maps (as
expected).

Warning: Now make sure Active Sync is connected and running before making
any registry changes.

One simple Reg Edit so Navigo can find the maps on the SD card - details
from the forum.

Test it again and TT runs properly but cannot find the GPS (as expected).

Configure GPS to: Other GPS receiver, 4800, Com 1.

Finished.

N.B. Ebuyer have just distributed the latest TurboDog and U.K. maps for
those not wishing to change to TomTom.
