Hi All,
Just wondered what the latest Firmware version available was for the tomtom
go 700, ( the software which runs it ) I am using 6.52.
I have got Map 6.75 installed now, and to my horror still has the speed over
speed thingy and it turns red if your speeding which does my head in and
flashes!
So i am wondering if there has been a fix to this or not?
Also, it still dont have the couldson bypass in it!
DT
Think your attention should be on the road ahead not the TT.

I have been looking for a Sat Nav that does that, I had been looking at
Becker. Do all Tom Toms include it?

There are 10 types of people in the world, those who do binary and those
who don't.

Some people don't like the feature.
The latest TT software can display the speed at which you are travelling
but changes the text to red when you exceed the limit[1]. Red text on
the background colour that TT use is difficult to read.

The speed limits are embedded into the maps. The accuracy of this
information leaves a lot to be desired. Consider that it takes around 2
or 3 years for the maps to be updated with new, or changed, roads it
will take the same amount of time for changes in limits to appear. There
are only two main map suppliers for all of the sat nav system in the
market place and it is said that one supplier is no better than the
other for UK maps.
While this facility may appear to be of some benefit in the Sat Nav
specifications in practice it of little value and should not replace the
mark one eyeball watching for speed limit signs and the speedometer.
You can never be sure that limit has not changed in the last few years
or that the maps have been updated - assuming the speed information in
the maps was correct in the first place.
and it's only as good as the informati.

Fair comment, I understand that.
If I bought a Tom Tom is there a reasonable chance that I will at least
get the most up to date maps that are available or might I have to pay for
a map upgrade?
