I've been asked if I can find out if anyone has decent maps for
southern ireland / irish republic, i.e. TomTom
Has anyone got experience on the detail level ?
I was under the impression they were all very patchy, but this might
have changed over the last couple of years...

TeleAtlas's Eire map coverage is very much better now that it was, just
taken a look at the latest release and coverage to my untrained eye
looks pretty comprehensive.
Is there anywhere in particular I can check for you to demonstrate detail?

Thanks - i'll probably steer the buyer towards TomTom then (i'd
already hinted their way, given that I own garminsuck.com - a protest
about how they treated me as a customer with, at the time, one of the
most expensive models they sold)

There isn't i'm afraid, but I shall endeavor to find out !
My brother uses NAVIGON in the Republic of Ireland with good
success. The main problem is they don't have postcodes outside of
Dublin

Thanks - i've never heard of FreshMaps though, are they based on one
of the "known" map systems, i.e. TeleAtlas / Navteq ?
