I want a sat nav , that has OS maps on it for countryside activities such as
walking cycling etc, and also does the street postcodes bit as well like
'normal' sat navs.

It has to have reasonable 5+ hours battery life - recharge in car, i dont
mind changing cards for switching from street level postcodes search over to
OS maps

What does the concensus of opinion say I should buy

Many thanks in anticipation

You need to buy http://www.satmap.com/about.php

and
a TomTom

Interesting ... I wasn't aware of that unit. Looks nice, but it doesn't
seem to do in-car navigation (a la TomTom)?

The only weatherproof unit I've seen that does that *and* OS mapping is
the Road Angel Adventurer (which comes with Memory Map and RA's own
road navigation app).

Cheers,
Daniel.

See the detailed review of the Satmap device at
http://www.anothercyclingforum.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=7331937b12242e453397ec2846bed487&topic=42379.0

It seems to be a work in progress still, and unless you want to pay to be a
Beta tester you may prefer to wait until the Satmap 15 is released with all
the bugs fixed!

First question: are you a millionaire?

Mike.
