Hi

I'm looking into buying a gps enabled 3g phone (android or iphone).

Wondered if anyone could comment on the following:-
-Is it possible to pre-load or pre-cache a browser with google-maps so that
you don't need to have an internet signal when out and about?
-Is there anyway to run memory map or at least use the OS maps with these
devices?
-Any good TomTom type s/w available - or is it all pay-per use and needs a
connection?
-Any recommnded h/w?

Thanks for any advice
Thomas

Many of the Nokia phones let you download country (or US state) road maps
which you can then use without a phone signal.

The maps can be stored on a memory card and you can have the maps for
several countries on one ca
