I've heard a lot over the last few years about appalling service from
TomTom, so I thought I'd pass this on to balance things up.

Bought a TomTom Go 730 at the begining of this month for what I felt was a
very reasonable price of £150. It was the last one in the store, and as is
often the case with the last one, it had been opened previously. Everything
was there and it didn't appear to have been used so I was happy to take it -
that was until I tried to use the 'Latest Map Guarantee' on the website, and
found it had expired!

I didn't want to go back to the shop because it was the last one (and they
weren't getting any more in), although I was pissed off that it appeared
they'd done the old 'box it back up and flog it on to the next punter'
routine.

So I contacted TomTom through the support route on their website. I told
them I had bought it on the 1st of October and the TomTom Home software was
reporting the map as being "6 quarters old" and not allowing me to update.

A swift reply came the following day, asking for the system info of the unit
and a scanned copy of the shop receipt, which I sent.

Today, I received aother e-mail informing me that the latest map was now
available to me from the TomTom Home software.

Well done TomTom!!
