I'm assuming this is going to have an impact on the updating of the
gpspocketworld database. Should be ok in places where it's safe to
stop, but not new ones in motorways for example

Is this being discussed on the website?

Don't know if its being discussed but they have a tool that might help.
It is a problem if you see a camera and want to log it without hazard.
I try to remember, or get passenger to note features of, location then
then check later on their on-line map. or e.g maybe add a quick favorite.
Mostly you'll find that someone else has logged it but the location was
where their car was not the camera itself which is better than nothing.

Apparently the police are going to target sat-navs in a similar way to
mobile phones. Obscuring the screen, driving without due care and
attention, etc.
Too many drivers are staring at their little glowing screens instead of
the road ahead.

Can you clarify what you mean ?

If you mean playing with the damn thing while driving, it's driving
without due care and attention at a guess !

To record a new camera location for their database involves about 3 or 4
presses of the touch screen

Mine needs one to mark it (hold it for ~2 seconds), and another to hit
OK to return to the satnav screen - it's a Garmin 2620
