Just curious - last week on Tuesday my Garmin 765T went deaf for
satellites while in the middle of a journey. Powered it down at the
end of the journey, left it a few hours and it was ok for the return
trip.
Curiously, later that evening I discovered that it had flattened its
battery. Charged it up and copied the current.gpx to my laptop.
The next day, it went deaf again shortly after starting a trip. Fiddled
with the screen a bit, and then heard a click and it powered off. After
that, nothing would wake it up, neither the power switch, the PC nor
the charger.
The day after that, I received an email from Garmin about a mandatory
software update to correct an issue whose description exactly fitted
the behaviour I had observed. So I concluded that there must have been
many other people reporting similar problems.
Unfortunately, having got to the comatose state, my unit has to be
returned to Garmin for service.
Cheers
Tony
