Any advice welcome

Hello all - first post for me

I have recently bought a motorhome which has a reasonable sound system
and a
reversing camera with 7" motorised screen. The windscreen is
some way from the
driver and I am not comfortable with a small screen.
We also use bikes a lot
when away, so portable would be useful. We are
planning to tour throughout
Europe.

I have been going mad considering all the options!!!

Alpine (does anyone find their website usable?) have the Blackbird, but
to get
the large screen would have to replace existing sound and screen
with an
expensive new double din system (couldn't find any evidence
that Blackbird has
AV out).

The best fit option so far is the Blaupunkt Travel Pilot (500 or 700)
which has
AV out (so can connect to existing screen) and is portable.
But is also has
loads of features I won't use - TV, MS readers etc.

Any views/comments/other options really welcome.

I'm a lorry driver. I would hazard a guess that a satnav attached to the
windscreen is the same or further away. I've had no problems with using
Tomtoms and have done 100,000's of miles with them in the 5 years I've had
Satnav. My current Tomtom is the ONE V3 and I've had that 2 years. It's
screen size has never been an issue. I might suggest that if you're finding
that it is that maybe you need an eye test.

I've been hiring motorhomes for use in Europe for several years. I
always take my own satnav, a Garmin with a windscreen mount. If you
mount a large screen portable satnav in a sensible location (left of the
wheel for LHD, right for RHD) they're easy to read.

The built in units are, IMO, dreadful compared to the portable ones.
