I'm trying to find out what GPS/satnav services/programs there are
besides TomTom that work on Windows Mobile 5 and 6.
Are there any good alternatives to TomTom? I basically want something
with Western Europe roads and streets but also need a
Latitude+Longitude fix wherever I am (including when at sea).
Was hoping to find some website wher different offerings are compared,
but had no luck. Thanks...

Direct comparison is difficult in an ever shifting market. I recently
reviewed ALK's CoPilot Live 7 which is worthy of consideration:

Other options are iGO, version 8 with 3D is imminent and Route66.
