While on a journey yesterday, I was happily driving along, when I observed
the screen suddenly change from the map to one of the menu screens.
It continued giving voice instructions to the end of the journey but would
not respond to any touch screen presses. I have turned it on and off a
number of times but it still comes up with the same menu screen and will
not respond.
Any ideas?

Hello Peter,

Try:
Download clearflash.exe from tomtom.com
Connect to TTHome
Run clearflash.exe on PC - follow instructions - three times.
I got this tip from TT customer service, it gets rid of any corrupt/left-overs
in the flash memory. You may have to reset some settings.
If all fails, I have found TT support helpful, phone or email.

This particular model has no re-set hole. My older one did but not this
one.
Anyway, I've just dismantled it as shown in a Utube video on how to change
the battery. I disconnected the battery, counted to about 30, reconnected
the battery, put it back together and it now appears to work. I've turned
it off and left it to charge the battery,
I'll try and have a play tomorrow.
