A friend has asked me to repair an old iPaq based Tomtom setup. The receiver
connects to the iPaq cradle using an RJ11 plug with 4 wires.
When I got the equipment there were only 3 wires connecting in the RJ11 (red,
brown and yellow) also the cable shield was loose and not connected.
Looking inside the receiver I see 4 wires (red, brown, yellow plus black) but
the black wire does not seem to appear in the cable.
So, simple question, what should be in the RJ11 - I will be replacing it? I'll
put red, brown and yellow back as per the original, but should the shield go in
the missing hole?
