Hi,

Having problems using the remote control. Sometimes it works. Most of the
time is does not. Any clues?

Yeah, but did you use fresh ones?

I have finally learned to throw away (actually recycle) batteries of
unknown age :-)

You might try using a cheap learning remote (one that can copy the
output of another) to see if the new one - once it learns the old one's
commands - is more consistent.

If the remote itself is at fault, it might take a few tries to teach
each command, but once it learns them, the new remote should be
dependable - *if* the problem is a weak remote and not the receiver. It
also requires that the remote uses infrared and a normal coding scheme -
otherwise the learning remote can't learn.

I've got a device (Not TT) that uses an IR remote, and if there is too
much daylight on the receiver it just won't work. Problem in a
convertible, or in bright-ish sun with roof closed!
