I gather the Garmin topo maps do not use unlock codes. I have an emap
and never encountered the unlock code.

I am not quite sure what your simple question was, but here is an answer.
I only used an unlock code on my eMap when I had bought a StreetPilot III,
which is an autorouting unit and does use locked maps. I decided to use my
free second unlock code for European City Navigator on the eMap. This was
handy as eMap and SP 3 both used the same type of datacard and I could swap
the card between the two units.
Garmin Topo maps for UK, France and Switzerland are all supplied locked and
need you to enter an unlock code before you can even see the map detail on
the PC.

Eh, I guess my brain was fried. The question was what kind of maps
have unlock codes, which you posters covered pretty well, so I guess
you read minds. ;-)

Correct.

Depends on your country. Garmin =UK= Topo II maps most certainly =DO=
need an unlock code.
