It's been over a month since the launch of the new GPS satellite with
the L5 demo. I just looked into the latest almanac and PRN01 is still
set unusable. New satellites are usually commissioned within about
2weeks. Does anybody know why PRN01 has been been delayed?

They're waiting for their bailout money from Obama.

I'm *NO* expert but you just used "demo" and "usable" in same context.

Would a "demo" *EVER* be _labeled_ as "usable"? ????? ;/

SHOULD it??????

'Demo' refers to only the L5 band Civil signal it has been
transmitting thereby assuring an international application to secure
the L5 band frequency doesn't expire. Otherwise, GPS IIR-20 (M7) is a
'full fledged' navigation satellite.

I haven't heard the GPS program needs a bailout so perhaps they are
waiting for Obama's permission to set the satellite usable. Here he
comes .. cameras clicking, bright lights and everyone yelping and
cheering in an orgasmic frenzy as he briskly walks into the GPS
operations center to tell everyone how he appreciates the good work
they are doing. Great theater and a great excuse to take Air Force One
out on a spin to Colorado.
