conference in Monterey, California, May 6-8, 2008.
Van Dierendonck is an international consultant as AJ Systems and a genera=

partner of GPS Silicon Valley. He has worked on the NAVSTAR Global Posit=
ioning=20
System (GPS) for 34 years, and has been a member of the Editorial Advisor=
y Board=20
of GPS World magazine since 1994. He has received numerous awards from t=
he US=20
Institute of Navigation (ION) =E2=80=94 the Burka Award (twice), the Kepl=
er Award, the=20
Thurlow Award =E2=80=94and he is an ION Fellow. He is current Chairman o=
f the ION=E2=80=99s=20
Satellite Division. He is also an IEEE Life Fellow and is in the U.S. Ai=
r=20
Force=E2=80=99s GPS Hall of Fame. His current work activities include su=
ch subjects as=20
ionospheric scintillation effects on GNSS and GNSS spectrum protection=20
(supporting NASA). He is co-chairman of two RTCA SC159 Working Groups =E2=
=80=94 WG1=20
dealing with modernized GNSS signals and WG7 dealing with antenna standar=
ds for=20
aviation. With GPS Silicon Valley he developed GPS ionospheric scintilla=
tion=20
and TEC monitors that are used worldwide.
