Suction cup Garmin C-series GPS

I have the Garmin SP III with a bean bag mount. I travel and need to
have a portable GPS for rental car use. Can the suction cup holder of
the Garmin C-series GPS be used over and over again in rental cars?
Will it leave a mark on the windshield?

I like the small size for putting into my suitecase or briefcase.
