If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Is there a way I can share my GPS position with friends so they're
able to follow my track. I guess in real time it would be very costly
so ones in awhile say every 3 hours GPS position will do.

In Australia and New Zealand, (and possibly other countries) you can buy:

Whether these are any good to you would depend on what country you want
to use them in, and if the PRS freqs' are legal there.
