I am looking for a GPS based vehicle tracking system for a small fleet of
service trucks (5-6). I would appreciate any recommendations, personal
experiences, products and services to avoid.

Thanks.

Hi David,

Cypress Solutions Inc. manufactures a line of rugged modems suited for
AVL applications. Our modems use cellular (CDMA/1X) technology to
transmit vehicle GPS location back to a central computer where that
information can be plotted. We provide the hardware solution and
software solution for small installations such as yours. There are
several options. For small fleets users can use our custom plugin for
Google Earth(tm) that will allow you to monitor the location of upto 5
vehicles using the free Google earth application or we can integrate
with several other mapping applications such as mappoint(tm) etc. We
are approved on Carriers in Canada (telus) and Alltel in the US. If
you would like more information please don't hesitate to contact us or
visit us on the web at www.cypress.bc.ca

thanks

You didn't specify if you need "real time" tracking or are interested in
analyzing performance at end of day/week/etc.
