PROBLEMS WITH CORS ONLINE STORAGE IN SILVER SPRING
The main CORS online storage in Silver Spring continues to operate
sub-optimally. This means that it is very slow to respond to user requests
as well as for NGS to post data to it. This issue has started impacting users
of UFCORS and commercial software that interacts with UFCORS. To mitigate
this problem we have stopped posting hourly files for all sites except
USCG and FAA sites.
Daily files start being posted shortly after 00:00UTC. We realize that this
will result in some users having to wait 24hrs before being able to
post-process their data, but it significantly improves the servers
response time.
We anticipate that we shall be able to resume hourly downloads Monday or
Tuesday next week and simultaneously transition to a new server.
If same-day hourly files are essential to you, please access our alternate
server at ftp://wwwest.ngs.noaa.gov/cors/rinex
The CORS operations team apologizes for this very long and problematic issue
and your patience as we resolve the problem.
If you have questions please contact ngs.cors @ noaa.gov
