USCG Navcen has takes weeks to update some of the information. For
instance, even though SVN49 isn't broadcast L-band for over a month,
it's still showing on their board (without any NANU link, so and
uninformed user would think SVN49 is healthy broadcasting PRN1). When
SVN62/PRN25 was launched, it took them about one month to add it to
the board. I suggest using:

The NGA site updates some stuff ahead of it happening (as planned
action) and the USAF NANU site updates in real time (I think it's the

I've also noticed the Operational Advisory persists to contain an
entry for the defective SV49 although it has been decommissioned and
removed from the broadcast almanac. I'd contend reference to
satellites that are currently in commission should appear.
Then there are issues related to the 24+3 configuration. I've seen
reference to the expandable slots being designated by A (Aft) and F
(Forward) but the Air Force system operators have used designations
like 11, 12 to describe expandable satellite positions. Currently,
every satellite has a standard position designator. I'm doubtful
there is any real attempt to describe the real configuration in an
Operational Advisory.
Perhaps the system operators will 'clean things up' when GPS IIF-2
begins sending PRN01.
The DoD doesn't respond to questions from the public concerning
operational matters. But, some time ago, there was a call for public
comment on future constellation reporting because standards will be
altered many years from now when OCX is implemented with Block III
satellites.
