After hours of searching on Garmin site for the product that will cover the
US for the road use on 60csx, I could not find the one that will do the
address search as the MetroGuide Canada V4 does. Am I missing something ?

highway numbers, highway intersections, interstate highway exit numbers
and the like.
If you want mapping for street level detail the software would be City
Navigator North America V8 or City Navigator North America NT V8. With
that you can search for a lot more streets and house numbers. You can
get a feel for the level of detail on CN 8 by looking at the MapSource
Map Viewer on the City Navigator North America web page:
http://www.garmin.com/cartography/mapSource/citynav.jsp
The only difference between CN NA V8 and CN NA NT V8 is that the NT
mapping would take up about 25% less space in storage on a microSD card.
I think you can store all the North American NT mapping on a 1 GB
card. I've heard that the mapping for Canada on CN NA V8 is not as good
or does not contain as much detail as the City Navigator Canada package.

I have MetroGuide Canada V4, and I can find the address and do the routing
to it provided that I enter the City, the number, and street name. It is
clearly indicated in Garmins description of the product that it does address
lookup. There is no mention of that feature on any other Garmin product. I
need mapping for US for my winter vacation ,and I will not buy it unless it
has the address lookup feature. Thanks. Rudy

The address lookup feature is in the software in the 60CSx, not part of
the North American or Canadian mapping packages. When you upload the
maps from CA or NA or whatever, you are also uploading the databases
with the road and street names that are not on the basemap, numbering on
the streets, and all the thousands of businesses and stuff that can be
seen in the various POI categories.
So what you can do now with CA V4 you will also be able to do on NA V8.
If you turn off the CN CA mapping and turn on the CN NA when you get
down here you'll have all the same details and search capabilities.
As I'm sure you know, the databases are not perfect in every way.
Occasionally a street or street name will be missing and not show up in
the search. I occasionally have to search for street names with
slightly different spellings on the names and/or look through the lists
of multiple results to find a street name as it is entered in the
software. But I don't get stumped too often. When I do, I can usually
find a another intersection of other streets or major roads to get me to
the right place.
Good luck in America! Enjoy your stay.

Thanks jack,I just received the answer about city navigator nt on micro sd
card, and i think the dvd version will be more practical. Thanks Rudy.
Hello Rudy,
Thank you for your interest in GPSmart. The product will provide address
searches such as the MetroGuide product. However the product will function
only in a Garmin product with a microSD slot. You are unable to load to a
computer with MapSource. All trip planning must be performed on the GPS
itself.
Kind Regards, Dean Wasylyk
