I have a Magellan Maestro 4050 GPS which I have used for about 2 years
without difficulty. Recently, I rented a 2010 Chevrolet Impala and
when I plugged in the Magellan unit, it would not take power from any
of the (3) power outlets that the car was equipped with. The GPS
fired up fine but, within a minute or two reported a low battery
charge and turned itself off. I was forced to rent a GPS (Garmin)
supplied by the rental company (Enterprise).

When I got home, I plugged in my Magellan unit into my car's outlet (a
2001 Cadillac DeVille), and it worked fine, as usual.

Have the adapter plugs been changed? Is there an "adapter for an
adapter"?

Best,

Bob

I'd be more inclined to think that there was another problem with the
power adapters (outlets) in that car.
