I'm so confused, I think I will wait on the next update.<bg>

Same here. Besides I looked up this "v. 2008" on Garmin's slow and
awkward map viewer and I see that the giant Walmart and the big
supermarket and car repair places here are still not shown - all
useful places to know about for travelers! - but some dinky little ice
cream store is shown, same as on my v.7. They have to take payoffs
for determining what businesses they show on their maps!

Right on. I'll just wait until the value is there.

You did.
I use v. 2008 in my 2720 and v. 8 in my 60Cx.

Also, is the Software Version the latest?
The Garmin web site FAQ tells you HOW to get the software version:
http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support?search_key=Unlocken
Where it says:
1. Touch "Settings" (wrench tool)
2. Touch "System"
3. Touch "About" (bottom of the screen)
4. Software Version should display here.
But it doesn't show you which is the latest software version!
Here is what mine reported:
nüvi 670
Software Version 3.30
Unit ID: 3255250357
Audio Version: 1.80
GDB SW Version:
GTM SW Version: 3.90
GPS SW Version: 2.90
Bluetooth SW Version: 2.40
(lots of Cyclops copyright information)
What do all these numbers mean to me?
How do I know if I have the latest versions?
Thanks in advance,
Sharon
