Garmin Foretrex 301 GPS Info

Hi,

Does anyone have this unit? I'm wondering if you're able to input Lat/Lon
coordinates into it? I can't seem to find that info on their site or in
reviews.

I did, from http://www8.garmin.com/manuals/Foretrex301_OwnersManual.pdf ,
still couldn't find an answer. So I'm assuming no can do?

Look at page eight of the manual, Editing Waypoints.

OK I'm a newb at this, and don't know all the terminology, so sorry for all
the confusion. This is what I want to do:

1. Get Lat/Lon for a hotel/whatever from Google Earth, enter it, and use the
GPS to help me get to it.
2. Meet up with friends hiking somewhere. They give me the Lat/Lon via some
form of communication, I enter it, and use GPS to help me find them.

In both instances, I've never been there to have marked a waypoint to edit.
I'm just wondering if I can put new coordinates in for a place I've never
been?

Sorry for all the confusion, and sorry for not understanding it if it's
staring me right in the face.
