Folks, playing with my new toy, I realised that the time is still on
"standard" time.
The Zone is set to the correct one, and the "Daylight saving" setting
is set to AUTOMATIC.
Walking down the street and playing with it, I noticed the ETA was
wrong.
Then looking at the time, I realised that it was one hour slow.
This could be fatal if someone used the GPS' clock when making a
flight because it hasn't adjusted for Daylight Saving time.
Looking in the manual there isn't really much said about HOW it
works.
It is just "listed" as an option.
I have found this with many of the settings in the manual. Instead
of explained, they are simply listed as options with nothing
explaining the workings of the setting.
VERY disappointed with their manuals.

Local time when the clocks go back. It doesn't mean you don't have to set
the correct time initially.

Which is rediculous! If I want to know which timezone I am in, I look where
I am and look at a timezone map. Isn't that precisely what a GPS is capable
of?

no.
Imagine you are very close to a time zone border. You will not want the GPS
receiver time reading jump forward and backward, caused by the wandering GPS
error.
Or, imagine you are on a big ship cruizing across the ocean. Your captain
will define what time is valid through the whole trip.
The OP had another problem: the receiver says it will change automatically
to daylight saving time, but it appears not to know the rules for all
countries.

Additionally, the GPS will assume that the rules for DST changes will be
constant unless updated by firmware. Those rules (covering what days the
changes back and forth) change be changed by governing bodies.

95. My dungeon will have its own qualified medical staff complete with
bodyguards. That way if a prisoner becomes sick and his cellmate tells the
guard it's an emergency, the guard will fetch a trauma team instead of
opening up the cell for a look. --Peter Anspach's Evil Overlord List
