I'm ready to buy two Garmin 2720 units and would like to know if anyone
here has had bad experience with refurb units?

Are refurb units free of case defects such as case and LCD screen
scratches?

You might want to check out http://www.tvnav.com/ . I bought my
Streetpilot 2610 from them and they will talk to you over the phone and
answer any questions you might have.

My unit was not a refurbished one so I can't help you on that. They
have sold some refurbished Streetpilots at tvnav.com in the past so
they can tell you all about them.

I got a refurbished Garmin GPS V and it was indistinguishable from new.
