Hi all,
I have been enjoying my GPS V for the past few months. I have only
one question. I notice in battery save mode the unit frequently tells
me that it has lost satellite coverage, even though the the satellite
screen shows me that it still have fine coverage.
Is this normal behavior?
Thanks.

Yes, because the V only looks for satellites once in a while to save
batteries. Only when you have a clear view of the sky it makes sense.

I did have a clear view of the sky. I was stopped in traffic. One
minute I had six or sevel satellites; the next I had none.
Is that supposed to happen?
Thanks.

Satellite have the bad habit of moving. =8-) So, even if you are
stationary, the number of satellites you can receive can vary. Not
within 10 seconds perhaps... there are also other things that can
influence reception, like a transmitter of any kind nearby. And when a
GPS in battery save mode looses reception, it is more difficult te get
a fix again.

One possibility is you had driven in to an area where RFI swamped
the front end of your ver sensitive GPS receiver.
