Folks,
I had Australian City Navigator V6.
At that stage, if I zoomed to a certain level, I see all the streets.
I updated to V7.
Map installed and unlocked.
Same place on the map, same zoom setting.
I don't see the roads.
Only when I zoom into about 200 Metres do I see them.
Gee did they change the threashold at which minor streets are shown?
Anyone else have this problem?

This is a set-able thing in MapSource. IIRC, it's in the View menu.

Shall look and see.
Just seems strange that as I didn't re-install Mapsource, and only
the map, why that setting would change.
But shall let you know.

Yes, they significantly lowered the zoom levels at which minor roads
display (in City Navigator Australia v7)
You can see this in MapSource on the PC;
with detail set to highest
in v6 the minor roads would display at 1.5km zoom level
in v7 you have to zoom in to 700m before the minor roads display
Similar effect on the GPS
Note that in City Navigator NZ v2 the minor roads also do not display
until 700m
It appears to be a deliberate action on Garmins part and in a country
where you can travel hundreds of kilometrres on minor roads only this
is just plain stupid.
Only seeing a small area restricts the usefulness of the mapping.
I konw a few people who decided not to upgrade to v7 because of the
limited changes and the backwards step of the zoom levels.
Hopefully Garmin will review this and revert to the v6 zoom levels for
v8.

Burnie,
Thanks for that. So it isn't me going nuts. ;-)
I fully agree with what you say too.
Oh, on that, what kind of GPS do you have? A mate and I have one and
are still learing alot about some of the "functions" which are vague
at best in the manual.
