windows vista and mapsend

Does anyone know of a work around to use mapsend direct route and topo 3d on
a windows vista laptop?
I can install but when the programs are run nothing happens at all.Have
tried to run in different compatibility modes but still doesn't work.
Magellan support is no help at all other than to say the software does not
work with vista.
Like Vista,Like the explorist 500,like windows xp wish all would work
together.
