Read the literature carefully.
It is probably "water resistant" and not waterPROOF; there is a big
difference.
As for the headphone jack, it may be inside a little sealed pod with only
the wires going into the unit.
You can't know this for sure without taking the cover(s) off but that act
itself would probably compromise the seal on the cover(s).
