Opening Roadmate 700

Hello, My sound went out in my roadmate 700. Does anyone have any
idea how to open up the roadmate 700? I thought it might be a loose
connection. I would rather troubleshoot that before I send it to
Magellan for 2 weeks to have them repair. I use it every day in my
business and can not be without it for 2 weeks.

this happened to me after upgrading the software. see the following from the
magellan site:
If you experience a loss of sound after performing this update, you will
have to download the English - US sound files. This download can be found at
the bottom of this page.
the sound file may have gotten corrupted somehow. before opening up
anything, i would download the english sound file from their support site
https://www.magellangps.com/en/support/products/MRM_update.asp
you may have to register or logon; but the sound files and some of the
upgrades are free.

after running the downloaded sound file, my 700 sounds are fine. i'm now
waiting for the v5 software to become available. it will be a paid update
that's supposed to be out very soon.

I'm beginning to wonder if that update is ever going to happen.

yea me too; it was supposed to occur before the new year which is tomorrow.
maybe before Easter? happy new year anyway!.

I received an email from Magellan earlier this month that it would be
sometime in Dec. also. I think that deadline has passed so I do not
have the latest. I downloaded the sound files for the roadmate 700 to
correct my sound issue and now I can not find my AC adapter. Driving
me crazy.
