apparently this comes in a DVD. there is a coupon code $20. off the $79.99
price. (with shipping, $85.99). i called them up and they said that i had
to purchase the upgrade and then call them back, give them the receipt #(or
some other # involved in the sale- can't remember exactly) and they would
refund the $20 to my credit card. Magellan then gave me a reference # to
use when i called them back after my purchase.

if you're going to purchase - first call them to get your reference #. so
there won't be any problems when you equest you $20 back.

QUESTION: does anyone have this upgrade? do you think it's worth it?
would you recommend it?

I installed it 12/26 and my 760 now will not power up. Finally got thru to
Magellan today and they tell me to return it for repairs.
Very frustrating experience and I hope I get the unit back working. I would
not do it again.

After waiting more than 5 weeks for the update to arrive I attempted to
apply the update. The installation froze after 2+ hours. The Magellan 760
wouldn't start up. Upon trying the install a second time, everything worked.
It is actually version 5.36

What I didn't realize was that these updated maps are already outdated since
they are from the 3rd quarter of 2006.

I would scrap the unit.. Mine just died and they told me that they no longer
support the 700/760 unit...
I certainly wouldnt spend any more money on it.. I bought the upgrade and it
was worth it when my
760 was working. Check out my post descrobing my experience with those
