I wrote a letter of complaint to Magellan in San Diego about my futile
problem resolution after updating to the latest level of their maps. (Unit
will not power on.)
Received a call from Magellan offering to swap out the 760 for a 4220 even
swap but only after I gave them my credit card information.
Yeah, sure.
They run the 4220 on my card and claim they never received the 760 and I'm
back talking to India.
They aren't dishonest, merely stupid. If you are concerned about it,
use registered mail and put the person who you wish to have receive it
as the recipient with identity verification. Then you have an auditable
trail.
cheers,
chuck..
I sent my 760 insured for $500, they said that they received it, now I have
to wait two weeks, will keep you all inform of the outcome

My question is why do they need your CC info if it's an even swap?
